Step 2 - Assessing Your Needs

Now it’s time to take measurements and develop the “laundry list” of what you’ll need for your project. If you have the needed information, please provide it as you continue.

2.1 - Type of structure

We need to know the following:

• What the structure is made of, wood or steel
• The on-center spacing between purlins (in inches)
• Is this a complete structure, lean-to, shed, or just a sheeted wall
• Is there a canopy?
• If so, will there be a soffit
